Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from a regionally accredited institution 
  • Minimum one year related experience
  • Ability to use critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills and commitment to use of technology
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team
  • Ability to manage multiple activities at once and prioritize effectively
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college

Position Description

Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the Director, Financial Services and performs the following functions:

Responsibilities:

  1. Vouchers invoices, contracts, and travel reimbursements using Colleague software.  
  2. Processes paper checks with positive payment file and electronic checks.  
  3. Processes employee travel advances and reimbursements. 
  4. Processes annual 1099 forms per IRS regulatory requirements.  
  5. Prepares monthly reimbursement for college vehicle usage by faculty/staff.
  6. Prepares monthly sales tax report.
  7. Provides general assistance to staff members in the division by preparing documents, spreadsheets, reports, data queries, and other tasks as needed for special projects.  
  8. Reconciles monthly invoice statements.  
  9. Works collaboratively with staff to develop cross-training opportunities and knowledge sharing.  
  10. Performs other duties as assigned, which support the purpose and initiatives of the College.

Qualifications Required:

ADA Summary:

ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability process information and exercise good judgment, ease of mobility within the office setting and other areas of campus, effective use of all forms of communication including use of keyboard and computer, the ability to perform general office duties, and potential travel to other campus locations.

Salary Range: 

$25,691 - $33,398 based on candidate's experience, education, and the state budget
