Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing  Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, a Nurse Licensure Compact State, or to be eligible for licensure ( must have temporary license prior to employment)  Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse  Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support  Current immunizations and annual tuberculosis screening per department policy

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:  Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred  Five years of clinical experience  Teaching experience at the college level 

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION: The Adjunct Nursing is responsible for all aspects of educational encounters with nursing students on-campus, in laboratory simulation, at clinical sites, and through other delivery methodologies in accordance with College policy and procedures. The relationship of this adjunct faculty member to the student is one of a leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Participates in development, implementation, evaluation and revision of curriculum as indicated  Plans and provides learning experiences based on programs objectives/ outcomes  Provides clinical supervision and guidance (clinical and skills lab) to students as assigned  Participates in academic advising and counseling as assigned  Assists with test construction and proctoring of examinations as needed  Evaluates student progress toward goal achievement  Identifies at-risk students and intervene with assistance of Lead Instructor  Maintains professional competence and licensure through continuing education, professional activities and/or practice  Participate in program level meetings, and college committees as assigned  Performs other duties as required including general administrative/office duties as needed 

OTHER RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  Knowledge and support of College policies and procedures  Must be able to work either days or evening clinical  Ability to use Microsoft office, Office 365, Moodle and Internet  Must have the ability and vocabulary required to communicate with all levels of staff, faculty, subordinates, students, and the public in the performance of the job
