Associate's degree in Electrical Systems Technology or demonstrably similar program. Electrical Journeyman's card or North Carolina Electrical License or reciprocating state, or other nationally recognized electrical certification or license. Computer skills using basic functions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must have a working knowledge of Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry.
Bachelor’s degree in an electrical related field such as Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical/Electronics Technology. Electrical Journeyman's Card or NC Electrical License or reciprocating state. Two years of combined residential and commercial wiring experience and two to five years teaching experience.
Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to instruct in the Electrical Systems Technology curriculum. Employees in this classification perform instructional work. Position is responsible for teaching classes and instructing students; preparing lesson plans; preparing tests; evaluating work; and counseling and advising students. Perform related work as required. This position will teach during the afternoon block at North Edgecombe High School.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Teaches classes: instruct students on the use of shop equipment.
• Supervises work experience activities; evaluates students' work.
• Maintains shop equipment - machine repairs and general maintenance.
• Prepares attendance reports and administers attendance policy; Administrators and responds to annual evaluation report.
• Averages grades and prepares student grade reports.
• Counsels and advises students.
• Recruits new students for programs.
