An Associate degree in health-related field with the equivalent of three years current clinical laboratory experience and a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) national certification is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in health related field with the equivalent of two years current clinical laboratory work experience and a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) national certification or a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) national certification is preferred. Bilingual preferred.
To provide instruction and evaluation of student achievement in specific content areas of medical laboratory technology curriculum including didactic instruction and supervision of hands-on labs. Content areas may include:
- Urinalysis & Body Fluids
- Clinical Chemistry
The essential duties and responsibilities include developing curriculum, policy and procedures, and performance objectives. Provide employability skills, promote career awareness, in addition provide individualized and safety instructions. Monitor inventory of lab supplies and student clinical progress. Maintain records and follow state requirements for the program. Must be able to possess good communication skills, work well with adult learners and be able to work flexible instructional hours as needed.
