Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 Demonstrated ability and commitment to tutor major and/or non-major level courses in Math

Ability to demonstrate a variety of instructional techniques and methods applicable to online tutoring

Ability to be self-directed, organized, task and detail-oriented

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook

Capability to troubleshoot general technical issues

Ability to evaluate and use online instructional tools

Ability to evaluate and use online instructional tools


Bachelor's degree in Math or related field

Online tutoring and/or teaching experience

Must be willing to work flexible evening hours from a pre-determined Wake Tech College Campus location

College transcripts must be uploaded with your application or submitted to the HR office prior to consideration for interview

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Math or related field

1+ years' experience in online college-level tutoring and/or teaching

Proven commitment to improving education through technology

Demonstrated skill in designing engaging instructional materials

Position Description

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of adjunct faculty for online tutorial support in Math and Statistics.  Openings for these positions may not exist at the present time; however upon review of your qualifications, you may be contacted directly by the department on an as-needed basis.  Duties will be performed at a pre-determined Wake Tech Campus location.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.

*Provides online tutoring services, including developing workshops and supplementary materials, to increase the learning achievements in curriculum and continuing education areas 

*Conducts online workshops as needed

 *Creates and works on publications and other communications projects that will benefit the ILC in general

*Ensures proper procedures for timekeeping and registration 

*Carries out administrative duties, such as necessary record keeping to meet auditing requirements 

Stays current, as required for staff development, in the relevant fields through workshops, classes, reading, or self-instruction

Supports all efforts of the ILC in facilitating its mission
