Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree in Applied Science in Office Systems Technology, Office Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two years of experience in office and project management.
- Proven record of exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically, Word and Excel.
- Effective communicator, both written and orally; exceptional proofreading and editing skills.
- Positive attitude and confidentially are required.
- Ability to critically think.

Preferred Qualifications

- Three years of experience in an academic setting; community college experience preferred.
- Proven ability to work with a diverse population including administration, faculty, staff, and students.
- Working Datatel knowledge.

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs provides administrative and clerical support to a department that oversees multiple divisions, e.g., Arts and Sciences, Academic Support, Early College High School, Institutional Effectiveness, Nursing and Allied Health, Professional and Technical Programs, Student Services, etc., and is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day office operations. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
