AAS degree in Information Technology/Systems or related field: at least 1 year of work experience in UNIX and or Database Management, and or Systems Analyst, and demonstrated ability to work well with people.
Bachelors degree in Information Technology/Systems or related field, 3 years experience in UNIX, Datatel Colleague, WebAdvisor, Self-Service and IBM Unidata Database; ability to work well with people; and Career Readiness Credential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist system users with Datatel database applications to meet user need requirements, including file creation, updates, maintenance.
Apply operating system and database updates as provided by the NCCCS and other vendors.
Perform routine file analysis and implement necessary adjustments and repairs.
Perform shutdown and start-up of administrative computer system and perform daily backups.
Setup and Maintain file uploads and integration with ECSI, Financial Aid Verification, Maxient, Regroup, WebAdvisor, Self-Service, Plato, and other integrated systems.
Implement and evaluate security policies and procedures of the administrative computer system.
Maintain user accounts and user security classes and rebuild security as necessary.
Monitor operating system logs and correct reported errors.
Manage and maintain Datatel Colleague, WebAdvisor, Self-Service, DMI, Envision runtime, Electronic Data Exchange (EDX), and File importing (ELF), Reporting Systems (Informer).
Prepare reports, diagrams, and presentations as required to report project activity, outcomes, usage, trends, user information etc.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve printer and personal computer software problems that relate to administrative computing.
Setup and manage CFNC system integration, FA LINK integration, and Regroup (Emergency Notification Systems).
Maintain system documentation, configurations, setups, and logs.
Manage and maintain Informer Database reporting server.
Work with Bookstore and Financial Aid to maintain FA-Link and bookstore POS system.
Work with Inventory manager and asset management through data interface with Administrative Computer Systems.
Write code for providing Informer Data reports to all areas of the college and make reporting available to department heads.
Provide suggestions to the Director of Computer Services for the improvement of computer system operations.
Serve on institutional committees as directed.
Perform other assignments as directed by the Director of Computer Services.
Perform other duties as assigned which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Edgecombe Community College.
