Minimum Qualifications

  1. An associate degree in social science, psychology, health sciences, or a directly related field from an accredited institution, required.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Two (2) years of professional-level experience working with case management, counseling, and/or other coordination of services for students/clients.   A combination of higher education and experience will be considered, preferred.

Position Description

Statement of Primary Purpose 

Under the supervision of the Director of the Advising and Success Center, the Adult Student Success Coach provides assistance to adult students in need of support services. The Adult Student Success Coach also supports a variety of services including but not limited to helping students develop academic and career plans, assisting students with registration, connecting students with community resources, and mentoring/counseling students to resolve barriers to their success. This is a grant funded position with funding through September 2027. 

Essential Responsibilities 

  1. Assists in the implementation and administration of the Single Stop and Timely Care benefit programs. 
  1. Coordinates with relevant divisions providing student support to enhance the student support network and to provide holistic student support for adult Isothermal Community College students.  
  1. Performs 1:1 support to adult students, referring to on-campus and community resources. 
  1. Seeks and maintains outside partnerships to build public benefits and basic needs programming.  
  1. Participates in communication/outreach efforts to promote programs, including facilitating presentations.  
  1. Collects data and creates reports to evaluate program effectiveness. 
  1. Collaborates closely with relevant Isothermal faculty and staff to provide holistic and relevant support to adult students in need. 
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

  1. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. 
  1. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and meet deadlines. 
  1. Proficiency in utilizing data and analytics to inform strategies, make evidence-based decisions, and evaluate the effectiveness of student support services and programs. 
  1. Ability and willingness to monitor and assess the performance of oneself to make improvements or take corrective action.  
  1. Strong ability to work autonomously, manage stress effectively, and maintain high performance under pressure with minimal supervision. 
  1. Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment that addresses equity gaps and ensures that teaching and learning resources meet the needs of all learners.
