Minimum Qualifications

An associate’s degree in a computer-related discipline to include but not limited to: digital art and digital media. Hands-on experience with: simulation, virtual reality, animation, game development, graphic design, or 3D modeling. The ability to differentiate colors and shades of color, visual acuity to determine depth perception, and ability to visually inspect small pixel groups.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following technologies: Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Mudbox, Pixologic, ZBrush, Adobe CS6, Epic Games Unreal Engine, YoYo Cames GameMaker Studio, Unity 3D, artificial intelligence, motion capture, C++, C#, or Python. Community college or post-secondary teaching, online teaching experience and bilingual is preferred but not required.

Position Description

The simulation and animation instructor is responsible for teaching an average of 18-20 contact hours per week. Teaching assignments may include on-campus and off-campus classes during the day, evening, weekend, and online. Course development where applicable, timely submission of reports, participation on assigned committees, and participation in professional development.  Service as a program advisor, participation in required special events including meetings, orientation, and graduation, recruitment activities, participation in college planning processes, and adherence to achieving learning outcomes.

Supplemental Information:

The ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 20 pounds) and occasionally heavier weight (up to 50 pounds). Oral and written communications skills and a license to operate a motor vehicle is required.
