Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in education, business, or closely related field from an accredited institution. The person employed must have excellent grammar, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. Documented ability to effectively organize programs; ability to prioritize and execute multiple roles/responsibilities and work autonomously
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree is preferred. Two years of secondary or post-secondary education experience is preferred.
Position Description
The Career Coach is responsible for cultivating programs and services for high school students, so students can successfully enter and advance into a career pathway. Duties include career exploration, advising, registration, and support services for high school students entering college-level pathways. Assist students in making informed decisions related to high school, community colleges, universities, military, and workforce training by providing timely information and guidance. The person will follow a communication plan to ensure consistent communication with students, parents/guardians, faculty, and staff. The employed person will recruit students to include but not limited to the Career and College Promise program for STEM and advanced manufacturing technology courses. The person must demonstrate knowledge in all aspects of the student experience to include: coaching, mentoring, academic/career advising, student/career services, and progression. Some evening and weekend work is required.
