1. Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field;
2. Must have a minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent clinical counseling experience ;

2. Must have a minimum of one year of full-time or equivalent experience in a community college setting;
3. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
Position Description
Job Description Summary
Provide career development services, both group and individual, including career counseling and exploration of life and career goals, challenges, and opportunities. Serve as a liaison in developing comprehensive, college-wide career services. Coach students in developing workplace readiness skills to facilitate success in current and future career endeavors. Provide short-term personal
counseling for students in crisis and those experiencing issues impacting academic performance, referring out to community resources as appropriate.
Duties
1. Provides career counseling services to students and potential students.
2. Assists students in all aspects of career development, including resume writing, cover letter composition, interview skills, job search, etc.
3. Plans and presents professional development workshops related to career exploration and working with at-risk students.
4. Maintains online career exploration software tools and manages career development web resources.
5. Serves as liaison with Curriculum and Continuing Education and Workforce Development to develop and implement a comprehensive career services model.
6. Develops and maintains Career Center to support educational and career-related goals of students.
7. Assists students in developing affirmative life skills, including strategic goal planning; decision making; interactive learning;
problem-solving; monitoring of academic progress; self-awareness; self-advocacy; and self-reliance.
8. Serves as employer liaison for posting jobs available to the community.
9. Serves as an Early Alert coach for at-risk students identified as needing counseling or community resources.
10. Provides support for college progress and completion efforts by providing short-term, solution-focused personal counseling, counseling regarding disciplinary sanctions, drug and alcohol sanctions, and Title IX referrals as needed.
11. Develops support plans with students on Financial Aid Suspension and/or Academic Standing Probation Level II, providing check-ins throughout the semester.
12. Serves on college committees as needed.
13. Contributes to the overall success of the College by remaining competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development sessions, and attending training.
14. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
15. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
