Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, business, or related field 
  • Ability to use technology, including Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to be self-directed and work effectively and collaboratively as a team player
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college
  • Effectiveness in the following College organizational competencies:  
      -  Translating College purpose, values, and vision into organizational action
      -  Collaborating and facilitating
      -  Creating and innovating
      -  Anticipating and responding to change
      -  Providing vision and leadership
      -  Assessment of student learning
      -  Engagement and assessment of successful student retention models

Position Description

The position of Career Pathways/Retention Coordinator is a 20-hour, grant-funded position that reports to the Program Director, College and Career Readiness/Get Real program.  Duties for the position include:

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with WIOA students a minimum of twice monthly to track student progress; identify student goal completions; set or revise new goals; discuss further education for those nearing completion of a high school diploma; discuss enrollment in Backpacks to Briefcases program; and, other items documenting student goals or progress towards goals.  Report this weekly to supervisor in the format supervisor requests for reporting 
  • Set short-term educational and employment goals with students
  • Track and document student goal achievement by using case notes in WIOA student files as needed
  • Track of WIOA student goal completion, such as AHS Diplomas or HiSet completions as needed for WIOA case files
  • Track student progress assessments (TABE, Practice HiSet, CRC, and Accuplacer)
  • Monitor student TABE test score and AHS credit using the credit book and TABE book
  • Process AHS and HiSet completion files and documenting completions of WIOA students with Career Development Consultant
  • Intake for potential students for the (WIOA) program (16-24)
  • Complete and enter enrollment paperwork for WIOA-eligible youth participation in a timely manner
  • Track WIOA students throughout program enrollment and for a 12-month period after program exit
  • Collaborate with DCCC and Davidson Works staff (CDC) to ensure program outcomes are met
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about work and any challenges with completion of the required work
  • Scan all Memorandum of Agreement for each worksite … Get REAL and Get READY
  • Teach a class/or sub for a class as needed as requested by supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the College mission and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or other administrators

ADA Summary:

ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication (written, oral, visual, auditory), including use of computers.
