Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, Electrical, and/or a related field with more than five years experience in a technical field from a manufacturing environment, public, military, and/or private sector, teaching experience, and supervisory/management experience; or a minimum of an associate degree in Industrial Technology, Electrical, Engineering, and/or a related field with more than eight years experience in a technical field from a manufacturing environment, public, military, and/or private sector, community college teaching experince, and supervisory/management experience. Applicants with an Associate Degree must show evidence that they are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and agree to complete their degree on or before August 15, 2019.
Masters Degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical, or a related field. The successful candidate will have more than 10 years experience in a technical field from a manufacturing environment, public, military, or private sector, post secondary teaching experience, and supervisory or management experience.
Planning and organizing multiple curriculums following institutional processes
Developing, with other program faculty and appropriate administration, program level competencies that outline expected student learning outcomes, providing leadership in the development and evaluation of appropriate assessments of established learning outcomes for this division.
Developing course syllabi that outline clear and appropriate learning outcomes and expectations that reflect program competencies.
Teaching an appropriate instructional course load in accordance with policies outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
Working with program faculty to maintain appropriate classroom standards that include the effective management of students in the classroom and lab facilities.
Managing program budgets, ordering textbooks, instructional materials, equipment, and supplies as needed for instruction following established procedures.
Developing and recommending class schedules cooperatively with other departments and divisions of the college following institutional procedures.
Maintaining compliance with established Critical Success Factors, performance measures, national benchmarks, etc. for the appropriate curriculums as prescribed by the North Carolina Community College System and accrediting entities.
Assisting with the recruitment , selection, orientation, and annual evaluations of full-time and part-time faculty.
Working with faculty to develop and implement student retention and completion strategies. Provide direction in recruiting students for the Industrial Technology Programs.
Providing effective instruction and use of pedagogical methods which demonstrate appropriate knowledge of his/her specialized field.
