Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution and a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina is required. Two full years of full-time employment or the equivalent in clinical nursing practice as an RN is required. Preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, or willingness to seek continuing education as required by the NC Board of Nursing upon employment is required. Good oral and written communication skills are required. A valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record is required. 

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing, or currently enrolled in a Master’s degree Nursing program is preferred. Post-secondary teaching experience and Bilingual are preferred.

Position Description

Primary responsibilities include clinical, simulation, and lab instruction of nursing students in programs accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Additional duties include course planning, development, and evaluation. The Clinical Nursing Instructor will advise students, serve on committees, and participate in college activities such as professional development training. The Clinical Nursing Instructor will be responsible for continuing education required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The Clinical Nursing Instructor must meet all competency, health, and immunization requirements of all clinical agencies according to contractual agreements.
