Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree (Cosmetology preferred) with current and active Cosmetology and Cosmetology Instructor Licenses required. Degrees and hours must be from a regionally accredited college or university; must have a current NC State Board of Cosmetic Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

Community College teaching experience and online teaching experience preferred.

Position Description

Responsible for teaching all aspects of the Cosmetology program. Major duties include: teaching, advising students, preparing lesson plans and lectures, writing course overviews and outlines, preparing tests, and class projects. Maintains current knowledge of hairstyling, salon management, cosmetician science, nail technology, esthetics, instructor training, fashion concepts, operating salon equipment, participates in ongoing professional development, and campus activities as required.
