Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of experience as a head cook in a restaurant
- Knowledgeable in different areas of ServSafe
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a classroom setting

Preferred Qualifications

Community College environment experience.

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning, preparing, and teaching lessons to a variety of students at different skill levels. This positon may require working with high school students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops lesson plans that are skill level appropriate over a 8 week session
- Prepares classroom setting and supplies for each weekly class
- Instructs on all technical aspects
- Coaches participants to create successful, finished products
- Implements safety and clean-up procedures established for the facility in keeping with Occupational Health & Safety standards
- Assists in the distribution and collection of program evaluations
- Assigns students kitchen task that allow each individual to gain hands-on practice and improve teaching skills
- Supervises students in the kitchen, encouraging proper technique and gently correcting as needed
- Assists in expanding the culinary program
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of experience as a head cook in a restaurant
- Knowledgeable in different areas of ServSafe
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a classroom setting
