Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree in Computer Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Networking, or related field.
CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ required (current, or within 90 days of employment).
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary for success.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience and/or ability to work with transitioning Military and Veteran students.
Cybersecurity related certifications such as CASP, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, SCP.
Linux experience or certification.
Teaching experience at the community college, or four-year college and/or experience as an industry/corporate trainer.
Position Description
Primary duties include classroom/laboratory teaching of CompTIA industry certification and Information Systems Security & Analysis courses to include:
-CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
-Firewalls
-Security Concepts
-Linux Administration
Candidate will utilize Blackboard as the learning management system (LMS) to house course content and delivery, as well as to develop strategies and support student engagement successes that align with the Systems Security & Analysis Department’s mission and goals.
Teach face-to-face classes to include days and evenings, both on and off campus. Teach online classes as needed by the department.
Incorporate latest instructional technologies in course delivery and utilize interactive learning technologies to engage students in teaching and learning processes.
Assist in program recruitment.
Advise and register students who are in the program.
Monitor and improve student retention.
Maintain class records.
Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, objectives, outlines, and lesson plans.
Evaluate classroom and online instruction and make necessary improvements.
Provide quality customer service to students, faculty and staff.
Continually develop and improve instructional skills through professional development.
