Completion of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration, or completion of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field with CPA licensure.

The Director of Disbursements handles a wide variety of professional accounting work to include payroll, benefits, accounts payable, student loans, financial accounting for student financial aid and grants, construction, institutional budgets, and financial reporting. This person provides highly responsible assistance to the Associate Vice President for Business and Finance.
Assists with the preparation of journal entries, consolidated annual financial report, single audit reporting package, and proforma financial statements in relation to the College’s annual financial reporting process; Prepares miscellaneous financial reports; Directs, supervises, and provides technical support to the College’s payroll/benefits and accounts payable functions; Directs Business and Finance activities related to the disbursement of financial aid/student grants and short term loans; Performs draw downs of federal funds; Oversees processing of the College’s electronic refunds to students; Acts as a liaison for Business and Finance with the College’s Financial Aid Department; Oversees the College’s monthly financial reporting to the North Carolina Community College Systems Office; Oversees the preparation of invoices for payment for construction projects; Participates in the development, posting, and monitoring of the College’s institutional funds budget; Oversees the annual escheats process; Prepares transactions and reports for the annual write-off of bad debt; Maintains fund authorities; Assists with general ledger maintenance; Assists with maintenance of Business and Finance personnel access rights to the College’s ERPsystem; Oversees foreign national compliance in the Office of Business and Finance; Participates in the evaluation and recommendation of improvements to the College’s accounting and financial internal control systems and procedures; Performs other duties as assigned.
