Position Description

Statement of Primary Purpose

Supervision of the Professional Licensure & Certification class for the SCC service area.  Develop and coordinate occupational extension classes for the LBJ Job Corps Center and the Oconaluftee Job Corps Center. Supervision of General Occupational Training programs.

 

Classification

Full-time, exempt, Program Administrator.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

•   Schedule Occupational classes for SCC service area.

•   Coordination of programs and LBJ Job Corps Center and Oconaluftee Job Corps Center

•   Hire, evaluate, and coach instructors.

•   Schedule classes, prepare tabloid copy, facilitate other advertising, facilitate contracts, register students, collect monies, and administer class evaluations.

•   Create course outlines/seek approval/report CE credit to Licensure Boards.

•   Obtain course approvals on all courses; prepare and submit course outlines/CEU rationales for courses and designate appropriate student resources.

•   Supervise occupational extension classes and other classes as requested.

•   Ensure correct payroll for instructors each month.

•   Ensure compliance with state board requirements.

•   Manage facilities and recommend equipment, furnishings and software improvements.

•   Provide direction, leadership, and guidance to assigned employees.

•   Analyze and solve work problems or assist employees in solving problems.

•   Possess general knowledge of all work responsibilities involved in assigned area.

•   Interact with students, the public, the community and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous, and professional manner on the phone and in person.

•   Maintain files and records as needed.

•   Represent the college by participating in community activities/programs that further the economic, social, and environment development of the service area.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

•   Serve on college committees.

•   Serve on community boards and committees.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Physical Demands           

No demanding physical requirements.

 

Licensing Requirement

Must possess Bachelor’s degree to be the coordinator for some programs.

Valid NC Driver’s License.

 

Working Conditions and Environment

Must travel to class locations, and NCCCS meetings throughout the state.  Work schedule must conform to class and meeting needs.

 

Equipment Operation

Computer, Copier, Fax, Telephone, Calculator, Printer, classroom equipment.
