Knowledge of: Computer systems and related software programs, including spreadsheet, database, and word processing; college policies and procedures for admission and placement; knowledge-base of workforce and educational assessment tools; educational and occupational counseling methods and practices; North Carolina Community College academic program areas; Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Ability to: Communicate effectively (written and oral) in a variety of settings with people from diverse backgrounds, educational levels, and age groups; operate a PC, mobile devices, and related software including Microsoft Office and relevant applications or internet-based platforms; develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty/staff, and the general public; independently perform complex tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects; apply organizational and analytical skills with specific attention to detail; generate documents and reports utilizing specific computer applications; maintain integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality; work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours consistent with student need, and meeting/conference requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work or related field required. Two (2) years of experience in workforce education required.
Under the direction of the Executive Dean of Enrollment Management, this position operates as the key point of entry for Department of Social Service Education and Training clients entering the College and supporting clients in successfully accessing education and training services within the College.
