•            Be able to explain concepts to others effectively

•            Effectively communicate study strategies to ensure academic success

•            Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds

•            Possess good organizational skills and complete paperwork in a timely manner

•            Exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraging learning environment

•            Must be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours per week

•            Must be willing to work nights and weekends

•            Must be willing to travel

Position Description

POSITION

Educational Opportunity Center Tutor

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

The TRiO Educational Opportunity Center Tutor is a part-time, temporary, federally funded Title IV grant Position. The position is responsible for providing tutorial assistance to EOC participants, and other students as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•            Demonstrate knowledge and competence in teaching basic reading and math skills

•            Be able to explain concepts to others effectively

•            Effectively communicate study strategies to ensure academic success

•            Work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds

•            Possess good organizational skills and complete paperwork in a timely manner

•            Exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraging learning environment

•            Must be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours per week

•            Must be willing to work nights and weekends

•            Must be willing to travel

SALARY/BENEFITS

  • $8.00 per hour, 20 hours per week for 42 weeks.
