Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Customer service experience
  • Minimum of 12 months’ work experience in post-secondary education 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in college recruitment, financial aid, testing, advising, records management and/or admissions areas
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability in office organizational skills
  • Datatel/Colleague experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and guests

Position Description

  • Guide prospective students through the comprehensive enrollment process
  • Provide assistance with general admissions correspondence and mailings
  • Provide general assistance with all registration activities
  • Provide assistance to students to include dropping/adding/withdrawing classes; refer appropriately
  • Assist in the recruitment process
  • Collaborate with the Advising Center to assist prospective students in pre-registration advising appointments
  • Assist with initial processing and data entry of admissions applications and related information
  • Assist with updating of student records in Datatel and Singularity
  • Manage incoming admissions documents and records (i.e. applications, transcripts, change of program forms, etc.)
  • Secure permanent student files at the L.L. Polk campus and assist with the transfer to and filing in the Records Office
  • Assist in the Testing Center, as needed:
    • Administer college placement tests, health admissions tests, pre-developmental assessments and other tests as requested for SPCC applicants and students
    • Administer other test instruments as directed according to appropriate guidelines
    • Ensure that all standardized and instructor tests are proctored according to test publisher or instructor guidelines, respectively
    • Monitor make-up instructor testing or distance learning testing for SPCC and off-campus courses as requested
  • Assist current and prospective students with the submission of Financial Aid information and forms, as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records
  • Work variable schedule if needed, including evenings/weekends and travel between campuses.
