Welding diploma from a regionally accredited institution; Completion of an associate’s degree by May 31, 2021; Documentation of academic progress towards associate’s degree in a related area is required each semester.
Minimum Documentation: Official transcripts from a regionally accredited institution, copies of certifications, and evaluation of all academic transcripts by college personnel.
Associate of Applied Science [AAS] in Welding or related area and Post-Secondary teaching experience.
Full-time faculty are professional, credentialed educators with the primary responsibility of providing quality learning experiences in credit or non-credit courses in their area of expertise for all Rockingham Community College (RCC) students. Faculty are responsible for providing learning experiences on the main campus and off-site. Faculty are responsible for but are not limited to planning, organizing, promoting, and teaching appropriate courses, to include online and hybrid. Faculty are expected to perform all instruction-related duties in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College, the North Carolina Community College System, and with appropriate accrediting entities where applicable. Faculty are also responsible for academic advising, follow-up support services, recruitment, and performing other duties as assigned.
Under the supervision of the Department Chair of Applied Technologies, the faculty member will educate and train students to gain skills, knowledge and behaviors and support their successful entry into the workplace. This faculty position will serve as the subject matter expert [SME] and provide leadership for the coordination and development for Welding courses and programs, advise and register students, serve on college committees and serve as a resource person for the Industrial Technology Division.
