Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of an Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution; experience working in a college setting, financial setting, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; working knowledge of computer programs; and experience in delivering excellent and professional customer service. Excellent knowledge of the Spanish language and ability to speak fluent Spanish is desired. Experience working in a financial aid office is also desired, but not required.

Position Description
- Counsels/advises students on all financial aid policies, veteran educational benefits, application procedures, deadlines, and program requirements;
- Collects and maintains all required documents related to financial aid and VA/military records in a manner which is consistent, organized and meets all federal, state and institutional guidelines;
- Utilizes various software programs to process applications and student files;
- Reviews and verifies student data and requests the necessary documents needed from the student to complete their financial aid file;
- Performs a variety of moderately complex clerical and administrative tasks to determine eligibility and processes financial aid awards;
- Communicates with appropriate federal and state agencies to resolve any conflicting issues as needed.
- Prepares applicable financial aid reports related to assigned area of responsibility.
- Manages one or more student aid programs or processes as assigned to include: budgeting, reconciling, awarding, and preparing reports.
- Adheres to and maintains a thorough knowledge of all federal, state, and institutional regulations to include, but not limited to, FERPA and Higher Education Act privacy laws and guidelines.
- Provides high quality customer service to all clients which includes but is not limited to students, faculty, staff and community partners.
- Conducts outreach events to promote financial aid funding and other financial resources (Open Houses, Orientations, Workshops, etc.).
- Performs additional tasks or duties as assigned.
- Interprets the mission, educational philosophy, and vision statements of Robeson Community College to the general public.
- Maintains the integrity of the College and its related foundations.
- Represents the College professionally and handling all financial affairs.
