Minimum Qualifications

An Associate degree in human resources or a business-related program from an accredited institution with a minimum of two years’ work experience in human resources or business-related field or five years’ work experience in human resources or a business-related field with progressively responsible professional experience. NEOGOV and Colleague Datatel experience is desired.

Position Description

  • Create position vacancy announcements for new job postings and create recruitment folder in NEOGOV.
  • Post vacancy announcements on appropriate web sites, send vacancy announcements to appropriate user groups via email, and submit employment ads to designated newspapers as requested.
  • Create and maintain position files for all position vacancy announcements.
  • Manage the application process in the NEOGOV applicant tracking system, forward applications to the appropriate hiring managers, and respond to all applicants appropriately.
  • Provide training for interview chair and interview committees when needed.
  • Create new hire packets and assist with new employee orientations.
  • Provide to payroll required documents on all new hires in required time frames.
  • Provide new hire information and exit information to key college contacts in required time frames.
  • Assist with organizing and planning annual open enrollment for benefits.
  • Acts as benefits specialist and assists employees with benefit issues/changes.
  • Process background checks.
  • Perform reference checks on potential new hires as requested.
  • Verify Safe Colleges mandatory training has been completed within the determined time line.  Make employee and VP follow up contacts as needed.
  • Maintain I-9 and First Point notebooks for current and past employees according to required compliance guidelines.
  • Obtain official transcripts from new employees and update Compliance Assist.
  • Maintain personnel files for all employees while adhering to confidentiality guidelines and according to the NC Records and Retention and Disposition Schedule.
  • Process paperwork associated with employee’s termination of employment.
  • Track annual performance evaluation submissions.
