Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning and two (2) years' accounting/bookkeeping experience;

OR High School diploma or equivalent with four (4) years' accounting/bookkeeping experience.  

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

Experience utilizing Raiser's Edge and Colleague.

Institutional Advancement Specialist

SALARY:$31,000.00 - $33,500.00 AnnuallyDIVISION:President's OfficeDEPARTMENT:Institutional AdvancementOPENING DATE:08/26/20CLOSING DATE:09/09/20 05:00 PMOCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Institutional Advancement Specialist performs a wide range of financial, technical, and administrative duties in support of the College's Institutional Advancement Center which includes the Craven Community College Foundation. This individual will ensure timely recording and reporting of all transactions for the Foundation in collaboration with the College's Financial Services and Financial Aid departments. In conjunction with the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, this position is the College's liaison for all advancement transactions for audit purposes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs accounting functions for all gift transactions to the Foundation on a daily basis, maintaining an accurate record of funds and general ledger distribution within the database
  • Receives, records, reconciles and reports transactions timely and accurately on behalf of the College; managing Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge software to ensure workflow and status updates
  • Serves as lead administrator for Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge software
  • Prepares monthly Foundation financial reports and reconciles data between Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge software and the College's Datatel system
  • Prepares financial materials in coordination with Financial Aid and Financial Services to support the Foundation's Board and committee meetings
  • Monitors all Institutional Advancement budgets; coordinating purchases and managing office supplies for the department
  • Prepares quarterly sales tax reports
  • Prepares materials to support the Foundation's Budget and Audit Committee meetings
  • Receives charitable gifts to the Foundation; records gift transactions and prepares appropriate documentation including tax information, property transfers and gift disposition consistent with organizational policies
  • Assists with Foundation and Lifetime Learning Center activities and events
  • Communicates as necessary with donors and internal/external stakeholders regarding gift transactions
  • Serves as secondary point-of-contact for visitors to the College President's office suite; answers phone calls, and greets and directs visitors
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the Foundation and the College's mission, core values and goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
