-Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
-3 years teaching and/or industry training experience in Adult Education and/or Adult Basic Skills.
-Experience with curriculum design.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel and Power Point).
-Second language acquisition experience.
-Master’s degree in Adult Education or Education from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
-Greater than 3 years of teaching and/or industry training experience in Adult Education and/or Adult Basic Skills.
-Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes.
-Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems.
- Proficiency/fluency in a second language.
The Adult Education Instructor’s responsibilities include providing instruction to Adult Education learners, teaching New Student Orientation classes to incoming students, mentoring new teachers, developing curriculum, and acting as one of the instructional leaders of the Adult Education programs. Incumbent will assist the Coordinator/Director with administrative duties to include coordinating paper flow and documentation for the programs including registration and LEIS (Literacy Education Information System) forms and attendance reports, etc. This person will report directly to the Adult Education Coordinator/Director. This person will also assist with CASAS and TABE testing, student registration, student follow-up and other duties as needed for the Adult Education programs.
