Master's degree from an accredited institution in Adult Education or Counselor Education and two years of teaching experience.
Community College, University teaching experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Online teaching experience a plus.
Teaches assigned courses in HSC 110 – Orientation to Health Careers, ACA 111 - College Student Success, ACA 122 - College Transfer Success, and serves as liaison to the SSC. Job duties include organizing a semester course following departmental guidelines, creating course materials (tests, handouts, lectures, slides, assignments, rubrics, models, activities, group work), setting up materials on Moodle (grade book, tests, lectures, and assignments), establishing and communicating policies compliant with departmental and school regulations, holding student conferences as needed, and creating lesson plans. Instructor will keep attendance using Web Attendance Tracking, complete progress reports as required, correspond with students and supervisors through e-mail, submit grade and attendance reports as required, work with students registered with Disabilities Services, and be accessible to supervisors by email and/or phone. Instructor should deal with student issues professionally and report unresolved issues or classroom incidents to their supervisors. Advises AGE students by providing current college information, interpreting test data, and admission requirements to assure appropriate placement for students in courses for intended health sciences curriculum majors. Responsible for updating and maintaining Associate of General Education information for departmental website and responding to internet inquiries via the PCCAGE account.
Performs related administrative and recordkeeping duties such as preparing lesson plans, distributing course syllabi, handouts, tests, etc.; gathering resources for class; duplicating and/or posting to Moodle materials and making transparencies; conducting class; conducting critiques of students' work; grading assignments; maintaining files; etc. Prepares and/or completes various reports and forms related to classes.
Receives, reviews, processes, files and/or submits a variety of documents and reports such as attendance report, room assignment sheets, grade sheets, evaluation forms, teaching schedule, professional development forms, annual objectives, various forms, memos, and general letters of correspondence.
Operates, utilizes, and maintains various types of equipment and supplies including computers, calculators, copiers, audio-visual equipment, general office supplies, etc.
Maintains good working relationships and communicates information within the department and with all departments/divisions on campus. Responds to emails, providing information and answering inquiries as appropriate. Performs other duties as required by the Department Chair, Associate in General Education (AGE).
