Minimum Qualifications

Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution or baccalaureate in nursing and enrolled in a graduate nursing program to be completed within three years of initial employment.  Current unrestricted license or multistate licensure privilege as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.  Have completed or within the first three years of employment complete preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation appropriate to assignment.  CPR certification required along with requirements of clinical agencies as assigned.  Computer skills required.  Must meet minimum SACS and other minimum criteria for faculty as the institution.  Must have two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse within the past five years.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree in Nursing Education from an accredited institution in addition to the other requirements listed above.  Bilingual; Career Readiness Certificate (CRC). Some prior teaching experience in nursing at the college level.  Some experience in varied health care areas.  Some experience teaching via distance learning.

Position Description

Plan, prepare for and teach assigned courses; evaluate student progress and provide academic advising; supervised and evaluate ADN students in clinical activities; maintain necessary records and submit institutional reports in a timely manner; assist in nursing program, departmental and institutional planning; serve on college committees; perform other job-related duties.  This position reports to the Department Head – Health Education.
