Minimum Qualifications

Educational & Certification Requirements:

Minimum requirements: 
-Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Applied Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a regionally accredited university

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Professional Experience:

Minimum requirements:
-Two years field experience in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Applied Engineering or related discipline.
-Post-secondary teaching experience in areas of Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or a related engineering discipline.
-Teaching experience in the areas of dynamics, statics, strength of materials, surveying, and architectural design.  
-Proficiency in AutoCad and Solidworks.

-Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Applied Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a regionally accredited university

-Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
-Experience with Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accreditation.

Position Description

Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field.  He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college. 

Under general supervision, this individual will develop, prepare and teach Civil Engineering Technology courses in the areas of drafting, architectural design, surveying, and structural analysis.
