Educational & Certification Requirements:
Must currently possess an unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina. Healthcare Provider level CPR certification required. Prior to or within the first three years of employment, must document preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, appropriate to assignment. Two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse required. Must have appropriate knowledge and clinical skills for teaching assignment and meet health requirements of the department.

The Instructor, Nurse Assistant I is a part-time, temporary faculty position responsible for teaching in a classroom, lab and clinical settings; coordinating the efforts of a designated instructional team as well as participate in activities that support institutional goals. Essential duties and functions include: Create an optimum learning environment, respond to student needs, manage effective instructional activities, develop or review/revise curriculum courses, demonstrate professionalism, cultivate positive working relationships with faculty and staff.
