Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in Mathematics or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, excellent oral and written communication skills, a self-starter, a team player, and the ability to work collaboratively with others is required. The Applicant is required to be available to teach using traditional methods (seated), online, and hybrid classes as needed. A valid North Carolina driver's license with a driving record sufficient to be covered under the Wayne Community College auto policy is required. 

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with the following are preferred: use of technology, math software, MyMathLab, and the graphing calculator. Teaching and designing math curricula to teach online math courses using Moodle; use of retention practices and student learning outcomes; teaching Calculus and Statistics is preferred. Two years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred. Experience working in a diverse population to include students, parents, faculty, staff, and the general public is preferred. Bilingual is preferred.

Position Description

Instructional duties include teaching day, evening, weekend, and online course in curriculum math. Classes meet on the main campus and at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Duties include submitting reports as required and maintaining student evaluation records; participation in curriculum development, revision, implementation, and evaluation; and performing all other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and or Dean.
