Educational & Certification Requirements:

Minimum requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Professional Experience:

Minimum requirements:

  • Previous experience with a Learning Management System (Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.).
  • Two or more years teaching online at an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Previous work experience coordinating student academic programs.
  • Experience using a student information system, such as Datatel, Colleague, Banner, etc.
  • Experience conducting webinars and/or online demonstrations.

Preferred Qualifications

Position Description

The Online Student Navigator supports both fully online students and students taking one or more classes online to ensure they are successful in their program of study.  Working with various departments at the college, the Online Student Navigator improves the online learner experience by identifying gaps and proposing solutions.  The Online Student Navigator provides continual communication to online students through online communities, workshops, webinars, and a variety of learning objects to help students persist and complete their courses and programs. The Online Student Navigator gathers information on online students through surveys, focus groups and events to increase student retention, satisfaction and success.
