Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in Computer Networking or related field from a regionally accredited institution
- At least one year of computer networking related experience
- Experience managing a Cisco networking environment
- Experience managing a Cisco VoIP telephone system and voice mail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to identifying problems, potential causes, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Maintain open communication in a professional manner

Position Description
The Network Administrator will install, configure, and support the College's local area network (LAN) and voice of IP (VoIP) telephone and voice mail system. The Network Administrator will monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. The Administration will administer and monitor network security measures.
The duties of the Network Administrator include, but are not limited to:
- Implement and provide technical support for voice services and equipment, such as voice mail systems and VoIP telecom system
- Operate consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
- Configure, monitor and maintain email applications or virus protection software
- Configure, monitor and maintain an intrusion detection/prevention system
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software,applications software, and all configurations
- Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future
- Research new technologies by attending seminars, reading trade articles, or taking classes, and implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
- Work with network users about how to solve existing system problems
Working Conditions
- Typical office environment, but occasionally will need to work in wiring closets and ceiling spaces
- Frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse; some standing and walking
- Physical ability to lift and install network equipment
