Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Information System or Information Technology-related field, or
  • Associate degree in Computer Science/Computer Information System or Information Technology-related field from an accredited institution with 2 years of experience in information technology.
  • Industry standard certifications preferred but not required. Industry standard certifications include but are not limited to CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Palo Alto Certified NSE, and Fortinet Certified NSE.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Information System or Information Technology-related field, or
  • Associate degree in Computer Science/Computer Information System or Information Technology-related field from an accredited institution with 2 years of experience in information technology.
  • Industry standard certifications preferred but not required. Industry standard certifications include but are not limited to CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Palo Alto Certified NSE, and Fortinet Certified NSE.

Position Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, operate, maintain, and upgrade network management resources, including but not limited to firewalls and switches.
  • Maintain network management systems.
  • Provide network connectivity to management and end-user devices utilizing twisted pair and optical cabling.
  • Monitor network performance for potential security threats, network bottlenecks or abuse, or miscellaneous network-related problems.
  • Install, operate, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft Windows Server VMs, Linux VMs, and Microsoft Hyper-V Hosts.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to the College’s staff, faculty, and students as requested through help desk tickets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
