Minimum Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree in Counseling or Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in Counseling or related field with emphasis in Behavioral Health required.
2. Formal training or equivalent experience which has provided knowledge of:
- The scope and function of career counseling in higher education.
- Both individual and group counseling techniques.
- Commitment to the philosophy of the comprehensive community college.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
Position Description
Under the direction of the Dean of Student Services, the Career Counselor is responsible for providing academic, career and personal/crisis counseling to aid students in finding academic programs that lead to employment and implementing strategies designed to create a supportive environment to enhance the student development process.
