Position Description
The Associate Dean of Adult Education (AE) is responsible for the administration and the day-to-day operations of all academic components of the Adult Education Program on the High Point campus to include Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), and English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL). The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, faculty and staff supervision, staff development/evaluation, program recruitment, retention, marketing, and service on various college and community partner committees and boards. The incumbent works closely with the Director of Program Accountability, testing center staff, and AE Directors to coordinate intake, assessment and registration of Adult Education students and to ensure appropriate recordkeeping is maintained and reported. This position may periodically require working evenings and weekends. The incumbent of this position will assist the Dean of Adult Education in overseeing the High Point budget. Additionally, the incumbent will serve as the chief administrator for the Adult Education program in the absence of the Dean.
