Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have the following:
> Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
> Current and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina.
>two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN).
> Current BLS certification
> Must have up-to-date immunizations for clinical sites.
In addition, the individual must have excellent communication skills, proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to work effectively with other people such as students, co-workers, management, and clinical site staff.
Preferred Qualifications
> Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Position Description
The nursing instructor is responsible for the planning, selection, organization, implementation, supervision, facilitation, and evaluation of the total learning experience of nursing students. The nursing instructor is responsible for effectively managing a clinical group of up to ten nursing students in a variety of clinical settings and will serve as a mentor/role model to students, faculty, and community by presenting a positive, professional image.
Note: Position contingent on the state budget and available funding.
Job Duties:
Assume responsibility for preparing and teaching the assigned course/clinical according to course outlines or schedules. Maintain accurate records and submit all college reports in a timely manner. Participate in curriculum meetings and curriculum revision as necessary. Being familiar with and adhering to college policies. Clinical instructor opportunities can be in Wilkes County, Ashe County, Forsyth County, or Iredell County.
