Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Current unencumbered NC license as a Registered Nurse OR compact nursing license valid for practicing and teaching in NC
  • 2000 hours documented experience in Home Health Care or Assisting Living Care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in course development and online delivery
  • Commitment to providing quality customer service
  • Proven ability to deal effectively, cooperatively and tactfully with students, business/industry, government and community representatives/citizens, faculty, staff and administrators
  • Ability to manage both non-credit and credit course work
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products

Position Description

  • Develop/update, implement and evaluate curriculum, educational materials, and methods to be used in the subject matter and make recommendations to the Dean
  • Evaluate new programs/courses for possible integration into the college’s list of offerings
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate student, instructor, and course and program documentation
  • Interact with clinical sites to ensure that policies and procedures specific to the site are being followed
  • Order supplies as needed for the programs
  • Develop course schedules for Curriculum and Continuing Education offerings
  • Supervise full-time and adjunct instructors while adhering to all SPCC policies
  • Ensure that all forms necessary for the placement of students on the NA Registry are completed and notarized in a timely manner
  • Keep current with information and skills in teaching field
  • Teach classes in the both counties each semester as needed
  • Work with advisory committees to ensure relevant curricula
  • Willingness to work nights and or weekends as needed
  • Assist in recruiting students for the program
  • Work cooperatively with all directors and staff
  • Take part in all applicable skills training
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Allied Health and Nursing
