Health Unit Coordinator Certificate with two years of experience in hospital unit coordination to include medical terminology. Applicants must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office. Must possess a valid North Carolina Drivers’ License and driving record which allows the applicant to be insurable under Wayne Community College’s auto insurance policy. Travel to clinical sites is required.
Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in health-related field, current national health unit coordination certification and five years of full-time health unit coordinator work experience; experience instructing adults and online courses; National Career Readiness Certification and bilingual.
Provide effective instruction in teaching the personal and professional skills for health unit coordination. Instruct students to perform health unit coordinators duties in compliance with appropriate state and national agencies, mandated curriculums, program guidelines and hospital and association regulations. Measure the competency of each student using an evaluation process. Maintain academic, attendance, and student records.
If selected for employment, the applicant must submit to a criminal background check and drug screening.
