Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in business/office management, computer information or similar program of study from a regionally accredited institution
  • Skill in the use of computers and commitment to use technology
  • Familiarity with MS Office 2010
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with others
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to change
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working in a higher education setting
  • Experience with Datatel Colleague system

Position Description

The Part-time Administrative Support Staff provides general administrative support to the Davie Campus and may occasionally support the Davie Education Center. The candidate will work in a team environment with other college staff to provide information, services, and technical support for the campus’s various functions, including continuing education, curriculum, admissions, and other areas of the College. An understanding of the College processes and administrative structure is essential. Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary and the ability to plan work, set priorities and to distinguish between the important and the urgent. The Administrative Support Staff must be able to work effectively with others, provide excellent customer service, demonstrate skill in planning, problem solving, and managing assignments, time and resources as well as be actively involved in the pursuit of excellence through the continuous improvement of College services. The Administrative Support Staff reports to the Dean of the Davie Campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily office management, operations and services
  • Data Entry using Colleague
  • Continuing education course set up and follow up
  • Register and receipt curriculum and continuing education students
  • Assist in reconciliation of bank records on a daily basis
  • Assist in daily bank deposits
  • Administer testing
  • Correspondence assistance
  • Phone coverage
  • Greet individuals and provide information
  • Work with the Bookstore to order and sell textbooks and supplies
  • Work with the Truck Driver Training Program applications and admissions procedures
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of the College
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:
