Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Four (4) years of experience in the construction industry and one year of administrative experience.
Training: An Associate degree from an accredited college or technical institute in Industrial Management, Construction Management or related filed or equivalent. Extensive experience directly related to the position duties, may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
Possession of valid North Carolina driver’s license with good driving record of five (5) years is required with no more than one (1) minor accident or violation in the pass three (3) years. Must have begun or completed the Hepatitis B immunizations.

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this part-time position. The ability to perform and observe all phases of construction and renovation projects and report all construction progression. Applicants should demonstrate evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change, open mindedness, fairness and the ability to see perspectives, and the willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth. There is potential for this position to become full time depending on operational needs and capabilities of the individual.


Duties include but not limited to, the following: Monitor construction schedules, progress, and contractor staffing. Report site and project problems to the Construction and Project Management Coordinator. Perform regular observations of construction projects with regard to quality, quantity of materials, installation methods used, conformity to specifications and industry standards, owner’s intent, scheduling requirements and contract documents. Confers with customers, architects, engineers, or field representatives. Generate and maintain field reports and observations reports on projects. Resolve problems and conflicts independently and if necessary referred to Construction and Project Management Coordinator or Director of Facilities. 
Perform and facilitate proper actions regarding construction and renovation issues. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Communicate through the College’s networking system. Establish and maintain effective working relationship with those contacted in the course of work. Compile and maintain accurate records and reports.
Lift up to 100 lbs., crawl, work in tight and confined spaces, bend, climb ladders, operate lift equipment. 
Perform other duties as assigned.
