An Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management or related field is required. Three or more year’s professional culinary experience, in food service management or related experience and two or more years culinary or food service related teaching or training experience is required. Must possess general computer skills and have current ServSafe Certification as well as have current hotel and restaurant certification(s) (START, TIPS, Delphi, etc.). Required to have National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC) or to attain it within six months of hire date. Culinary Institute of America (CIA) Credential is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management or related field and experience teaching adults and teaching courses online is preferred. Bilingual preferred.
Responsible for instruction within the food service preparation and culinary arts fields. Develop, update and implement curriculum and educational materials and methods used to advance learning in the classroom. Organize and maintain class area, including physical facilities, equipment, inventory and materials in a clean neat operating condition. Responsible for coaching, follow up and tracking student success. Promote and recruit for occupational courses throughout the community. Evaluate student performance. Maintain academic, attendance, and student records.
