Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree in History or 18 graduate hours in history (official transcripts required upon hire)
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience on the post-secondary level
Position Description
Definition: To provide classroom and/or online instruction to students using multiple teaching strategies and perform accurate assessment of student learning
Essential Functions:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Prepare and execute lessons, lectures, activities, and exercises for seated and/or online settings.
• Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance. Grade and record individual scores.
• Grade and return assignments and post grades in a prompt manner.
• Provide prompt and appropriate professional correspondence to students and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance. Maintain other records as required
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge of:
• Teaching techniques and procedures, including techniques using the internet and technology
• Current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment
• Principles of test development and administration
Ability to:
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
• Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
o Making observations
o Reading and writing
o Communicating with others
o Operating assigned equipment
o Handling varied tasks simultaneously
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
o Standing or sitting for extended periods of time
o Operating assigned equipment
o Handling varied tasks simultaneously
o Bending, stooping, climbing or lifting up to 50 pounds
• Maintain mental capacity, which allow the capability of:
o Making sound decisions
o Responding to questions
o Demonstrating intellectual capabilities
