A Master's degree in Physics or a Master's degree plus 18 graduate semester hours in Physics is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Community college or post-secondary teaching experience is preferred. Bi-lingual is preferred.
The Physics instructor is responsible for teaching an average of 18 hours of physics classes per semester. Instructional duties include teaching day and evening courses that include algebra and calculus based physics and astronomy lectures and labs. Duties include college transfer student advising, timely submission of reports, participation in assigned committees, and participation in textbook selection. Responsibilities also include service in the College Transfer Academic Advising Center and participation in required special events including faculty meetings, orientation, and graduation. Additional responsibilities include recruitment activities, participation in planning processes, and adherence to achieving learning outcomes.
