Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, adult education or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in business/industry settings
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain evidence to support program operations
  • Skill in the use of computers and commitment to using appropriate technology
  • Demonstrated competence in MS Office applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with others
  • Ability to provide leadership in anticipating and responding to change
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college
  • Effectiveness in the addressing College organizational competencies:
  • Translating College purpose, values, and vision into organizational action
  • Collaborating and facilitating
  • Creating and innovating

                                                                                           Program Director, Customized Training
 

The Program Director, Customized Training, is responsible for planning, coordination, and evaluation of educational programming that support business and industry needs.  The Program Director reports to the Dean of Workforce Development and Continuing Education and has the following specific responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collaborate with local and regional partners including Workforce Boards, Economic Development Directors, and Career and Technical Education personnel to promote development of a skilled workforce to meet regional needs.
  2. Work with area business and industry organizations to identify and address workforce needs.
  3. Coordinate the implementation and evaluation of industry and corporate training programming.
  4. Develop and implement courses and programs tailored to meet the training and development needs of companies related to areas of job creation, productivity enhancement and deployment of technology.
  5. Facilitate processes to ensure compliance with College policies and procedures.
  6. Maintains currency with local, state and federal guidelines to support training needs.
  7. Assist in the development of marketing strategies and materials to publicize training programs.
  8. Represent the College in the community and during functions affiliated with business & industry, corporate training and workforce development.
  9. Establish and/or grow partnerships with stakeholders within the College and the community, especially as related to corporate training and apprenticeships in Davidson and Davie counties.
  10. Participate in College and School meetings/events.
  11. Perform other duties that support the mission, vision, values and initiatives of the College.
