Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Information Technology or closely related field; 3 years experience in Literacy Programming.  NC Basic Skills Faculty Core Credential.  Experience teaching adults and in curricula program compliance/planning and accountability.  Familiarity with North Carolina Adult Content Standards. Ability to leverage technology in the delivery of instruction; demonstrated proficiency in Google and Microsoft applications including Excel; strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.

Preferred Qualifications

2-5 years experience in meeting Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) guidelines and compliance;  Bilingual and a National Career Readiness Certificate.

Position Description

Direct the coordination of development, implementation, and evaluation of ABE, AHS, and HSE instructional programming to meet WIOA guidelines and compliance. Assist director with creation and coordination of semester programming, schedules, with room and faculty assignments. Coordinate the work of instructional leaders and faculty to align with the North Carolina Adult Content Standards.  Provide an analytic approach to training and disseminating program information to support WIOA student accountability and performance goals.

 

Coordinate with Student Support coordinator, CES registrar and Institutional Research department to prepare reports and evaluate data to improve Measurable Skills Gains for North Carolina Performance Measures, Program Outcomes, and Program reviews.  Extract, analyze, and report data from Colleague and Informer databases to provide support for the effective use of student performance information in decision making processes. Maintain liaison role and participate with colleagues in local/regional/state/national associations and organizations.  Provide marketing for ABE, AHS, and HSE programs.  Provide program wide leadership and supervision in the required WIOA integration of technology and contextual instruction into curriculum. 

Coordinate with Transitional Programs director, Student Support coordinator, and English Language Learners coordinator to review data and develop plans to improve student success. Assist director in writing program grants. Monitor state and federal educational policies relating to research and evaluation. Provide faculty with the latest research and best practices. Research, requisition and disseminate instructional materials.  Assist with the recruitment, selection, supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff. Audit classes in accordance with Workforce Continuing Education Accountability and Credibility Plan.  Supervise Instructional Team Leader and Faculty.  Complete and monitor monthly departmental part-time payroll.

Complete mandated professional development on an annual basis and coordinate and monitor the professional development opportunities and assignments for all ABE, AHS, and HSE faculty including the documentation of activities on the College’s professional development tracking site. Participate in departmental planning and evaluation.  Serve on college, regional, and state committees in order to further promote the interests of WCC and the Transitional Programs for College and Career.  Report directly to the Director of Transitional Programs for College and Career. Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
