Experience with Excel and Word. Excellent data entry and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and effective organization skills.

Associates degree in accounting, or closely related field. Four years of increasingly responsible technical and clerical accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Cashiering experience. Colleague (Ellucian) experience. Community College experience.

Position Description

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Senior Accounting Technician in the Office of Business and Finance. The Senior Accounting Technician will serve in a lead capacity in cashiering and accounts receivable, and  perform a variety of responsible para-professional and technical level accounting work involving the preparation and maintenance of financial reports, accounting records, and statistical records and reports; to provide technical or functional training to staff; and to provide responsible technical staff assistance to higher level department staff. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

 

Shares the responsibility of cashiering, preparing and maintaining daily reports and records of money received, which includes: verifying, coding, and calculating monies receipted, posting all accounts receivables to the general ledger, running reports, balancing revenues receipted, preparing bank deposits, preparing journal entries, and researching and analyzing problems. Assists students and collects monies.  Performs other duties as assigned.
