Minimum Qualifications

·         Associate’s Degree

·         Minimum of 1 year work experience in customer service, library or office environments

·         Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets applications

·         Ability to deal effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with staff, students, SSRC patrons and funding partners

Position Description

Job Description

The Smart Start Resource Center (SSRC) Assistant is a part-time, grant-funded position located primarily on the OCH Campus in Monroe, NC. Hours range from 12-15 per week, with days of operation being Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturdays (occasionally).

 

The Assistant supports the effective day-to-day operation of the SSRC in the following areas:

·         Resource Center Customer Relations

·         Resource Center Operations

·         Supports the Partnership’s mission and goals in the community along with the Alliance for Children Board of Directors, Executive Director, Board Committees, other Partnership staff and community and state organizations.

Job Duties

·         Provide support and excellent customer service for childcare providers and parents in the selection of appropriate training materials for children

·         Maintain a good working relationship with the Union County child care centers, parents, and other partners

·         Support distribution/dissemination of communication with patrons via electronic mail, newsletters, flyers, etc.

·         Attend meetings and training sessions as requested

·         Comply with Alliance for Children and South Piedmont Community College policies and procedures regarding orders and personnel matters

·         Promote Alliance for Children & Smart Start programs and mission in the community
