Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in an information technology related field or related experience, Bachelor degree preferred

• 2 years of Colleague system administration experience, 5 years preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Position Description

 Plans and coordinates the installation of new releases and system software. Analyzes impacts of software updates and researches solutions to problems. Install and test new system software releases and place them in production mode after successful testing.
 Analyzes existing software, hardware systems and procedures; recommends modifications or creations of computer programs and user procedures to best meet users’ needs; make recommendations for improvements.
 Researches and evaluates College Information Systems (CIS) hardware and software requirements; configures, installs and maintains CIS software to support and ensure day-to-day operations of Datatel Colleague and related systems.
 Evaluates, recommends, implements, and ensures systems security.
 Prepares client, operations, and systems documentation according to pre-established standards.
 Evaluates equipment and software capability; researches and resolves problems; makes technical recommendations.
 Reviews vendor software bulletins to identify potential problems; installs updates and modifications as required.
 Confers with program product vendors regarding new product releases and for problem resolutions.
 Possesses positive and professional outlook, personal integrity, problem solving ability and ability to handle stress.
 Ability to maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
 Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including College network as a whole.

 Must have the ability and vocabulary required to communicate with all levels of staff, faculty, subordinates, students, and the public in the performance of the job
 Skills in operating, installing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting a variety of highly technical computers, servers and peripherals; systems analysis and information system concepts, techniques, and operating principles; program specification, designing, testing and prototyping Computer programming ability
 Maintain a customer focus in providing technology services to the College’s community
